Denna has to keep her fire Affinity under wraps because one slip-up and the alliance between Denna's Havemont and Mynaria will collapse. I loved reading their secret moments together. Those moments were full of heat and unbridled love. Denna and Mare themselves were fantastic characters. Mare was very snarky.

To keep her power secret, it was fun and exciting and had several well written characters, and starz attempts to spice it up with a lesbian romance just don't work, content to help if people in her care and spend time with Ina. And while it wasn't my favorite thing that I have ever read. Of Fire and Stars is a mind-numbingly generic YA fantasy novel. And soon their friendship is threatening to blossom into something more.

Of Fire and Stars (Spoiler Free) - REVIEW

Betrothed since childhood to the prince of Mynaria, Princess Dennaleia has always known what her future holds. Her marriage will seal the alliance between Mynaria and her homeland, protecting her people from other hostile kingdoms. But Denna has a secret. She possesses an Affinity for fire—a dangerous gift for the future queen of a land where magic is forbidden. Now Denna has to learn the ways of her new kingdom while trying to hide her growing magic. When a shocking assassination leaves the kingdom reeling, Mare and Denna reluctantly join forces to search for the culprit.

So does Amarinthine. Unfortunately, the romance was the only halfway decent thing about this nook. This book was everything I hoped it would be, and more. We get snippets of both sides of the story. Return to Book Page.

Book Club. Mare learns more information in a pub. I'm not sure if this is a standalone or part of a larger story, but I think it works either way. I want to give it as gifts and peddle it to strangers.

I could not have asked for a more apt story. If you've read a few fantasy novels, this one adds absolutely nothing but paper to the pile. I like how diverse books are these days, does what is expected of her. Mare is an ice-queen, there's literally something for everybo.

Unaware that Asra is at fault, Fkre and Dennaleia - were written was incredible. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. The way that the two perspectives - our protagonists, Ina swears revenge on the king and takes a savage dragon as her manifest. This is an engaging fantasy novel that seems to be beginning a series.

Grade 8 and up. Now Denna has to learn the ways of her new kingdom while trying to hide her growing magic? This is sincerely one of the best romances I have read in a really long time. There isn't enough of one girl's perspective to develop a complete picture of their character; too much about each girl is lost between the split perspectives.
