Ginny Thrasher, the 2016 Olympic Champion in Women’s Air Rifle, is a current student-athlete at West Virginia University. She is a senior in the biomedical engineering program at the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Thrasher is also conducting research with the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, examining the relationship between heart rate and athletic performance.
Thrasher has proudly represented WVU at three NCAA championships, where she has won two NCAA Team Titles and two NCAA Individual Titles. She has also received many academic awards, including being named a two-time Academic All-American and a Rhodes Scholarship Finalist.
She looks forward to moving to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs after graduation in May 2019, where she will pursue her 2020 Olympic aspirations.
